A shared framework to make help visible without ever turning balance into debt.
The Famyuni spirit
Famyuni is based on a simple idea: making family help visible so it can be better recognised and, where possible, shared more fairly. The platform is not intended to judge family members, label carers as “good” or “bad”, or impose an ideal division of responsibilities.
By joining Famyuni, everyone accepts a framework based on four principles:
Freedom
Everyone contributes according to their abilities, without obligation or pressure.
Recognition
Every contribution deserves respectful consideration, whatever form it takes.
Kindness
No member should be made to feel guilty, humiliated or coerced.
Balance
Balance is a guide to the situation, never a debt between loved ones.
A shared framework for every family
A family may include people who have plenty of time, others who live far away, work, have their own constraints or simply cannot be involved in the same way. Famyuni starts from this reality: family help is not always perfectly shared, and cannot always be.
Famyuni aims to provide a shared, transparent and calm point of reference. Making a contribution visible does not give anyone the right to demand the same from others. Equally, contributing less must never expose a member to criticism, pressure or exclusion.
1. Balance describes a situation, never a debt
The balance chart and indicators show a situation based on the contributions recorded in the group. They help everyone understand how help is shared at a particular time.
- A difference in balance creates no debt between members.
- It does not mean that one member “owes” another time, money, a service or compensation.
- It is not a judgment of a person’s involvement, affection, availability or worth.
- It must never be used to settle family scores, put pressure on someone or justify a demand.
A helpful approach
Treat balance as a guide to understanding the situation and opening a conversation, not as a bill to pay.
2. Everyone is free to contribute… or not to contribute
Joining Famyuni means recognising that no family member can be forced to take part in helping a loved one.
- Famyuni imposes no minimum contribution.
- Each member freely decides whether they wish to contribute, when and how.
- A member may be highly involved, involved occasionally or unable to take part for a period of time.
- No group member may impose a task, attendance, expense or support on another.
3. Not everyone can help in the same way
Joining Famyuni means accepting that everyone has different abilities. Distance, personal, work or family constraints, available resources and many other factors can limit a person’s involvement.
These differences do not make anyone more or less entitled to belong to the group. Famyuni seeks to make the situation visible, not to impose artificial equality.
4. Other people’s contributions must be recognised
Making help visible only makes sense if everyone also agrees to recognise what others contribute.
- Do not deliberately belittle a contribution because it seems less important to you than your own.
- Time, travel, organisation, administrative tasks, expenses and different forms of being there can all count.
- If you disagree about a contribution, use the tools provided by Famyuni and discuss it respectfully.
- Contributions must be reported in good faith and correspond to help actually provided or planned, in accordance with how the service works.
Supporting without coercion
5. Support is always voluntary
When one member contributes more than others, Famyuni may allow other members to offer them support. This support may take different forms depending on what each person can do.
- Offering support is a free choice.
- Accepting or refusing support is also a free choice.
- Support is never automatically owed because of an imbalance.
- No member may use Famyuni to demand or impose support.
The purpose of support is to let everyone help in a different way where it makes sense, not to turn family relationships into accounting obligations.
6. Kindness is required in discussions
Famyuni must remain a space where members can understand the family’s situation without fearing blame or attacks.
- Insults, humiliation, threats, intimidation or aggressive remarks are not accepted.
- Repeatedly making a member feel guilty for contributing less is contrary to the spirit of Famyuni.
- Harassing a member, repeatedly putting pressure on them or trying to isolate them from the group is prohibited.
- Disagreements can happen. They must always be expressed without violence, contempt or personal attacks.
7. Respect the privacy of members and the loved one being supported
Information shared in a Famyuni group often concerns personal and family life. It must be treated discreetly.
- Do not share messages, photos, documents or information outside the group without the agreement of those concerned.
- Only publish information that is genuinely useful for organising and understanding family help.
- Do not record detailed medical information or particularly sensitive content that is unnecessary for the group to function.
- Respect the image rights and privacy of everyone appearing in shared content.
8. Content must remain appropriate to the Famyuni environment
Published content must be suitable for a family space devoted to help, organisation, recognition and support.
- Unlawful content is prohibited.
- Hateful, discriminatory, violent, threatening, sexual or clearly shocking content is prohibited.
- Spam, attempted scams, unsolicited advertising and content unrelated to the use of Famyuni may be removed.
- Images, texts, comments and files used to harass, humiliate or attack someone are prohibited.
Protecting a space of trust
9. Famyuni does not arbitrate family relationships
Famyuni provides tools, points of reference and a shared framework. The platform is not intended to determine who is right in a family conflict, force a member to contribute or decide what a family should do.
When a disagreement goes beyond the platform’s operation, members are invited to resolve it outside Famyuni and, if necessary, seek suitable support.
10. Famyuni may intervene if the rules are not followed
To protect users and the Famyuni environment, action may be taken when content or behaviour violates these rules, the terms of use or the law.
- Removing or hiding inappropriate content.
- Issuing a warning to the user concerned.
- Temporarily restricting certain features.
- Temporarily suspending the account.
- Permanently deleting the account.
Depending on how serious the situation is, Famyuni may act immediately without necessarily applying all the preceding steps. Clearly unlawful content may also be subject to the measures required by applicable regulations.
Moderation has a specific purpose
Famyuni’s interventions aim to protect users and the proper operation of the platform. They are not intended to take sides in family disagreements.
